As CES 2014 is going on the, on the last evening, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich announced the McAfee brand name will be phased out and replaced by “Intel Security". Now the new product will identify the new Intel security products. As Intel says that, the re-branding will be going soon, but the transform of the product will take a year to complete.
Intel also mentioned that, whenever Intel releases the next version of every McAfee product, only then will it be branded Intel Security. The logo of the new brand will be remain same, but only the name will changed. The red shield, which Intel says represents “the core values of security and protection” will remain.
Earlier on 2010, Intel announced to acquire McAfee for $7.7 billion in cash. Intel paid $48 a share for McAfee, and took the 60 % of the company premium products.
Intel also announced the plans for the McAfee security solution for mobile device for free. This plans gives the security to users data as well as the device protection for the iPhone, iPAD, and Android device.
"More light on this plan and on rebrand of product will be announced in comimg month", says Intel.
