There is no doubt that WhatsApp offers a range of features to allow users a seamless and user-friendly messaging experience. Also, it regularly tests and adds new features for its user's convenience. With the recently introduced Channel features and some others like chat lock, transfer chats, communities, etc., WhatsApp still making its app better and more user-friendly.
However, there are still some features that users are waiting for, and one of them is the ability to use multiple accounts.
Currently, to use multiple WhatsApp accounts, WhatsApp users are using any third-party apps or WhatsApp business apps on one device. Now, users don't need to worry about it, as WhatsApp is working on a feature that allows users to use multiple WhatsApp accounts on the same phone.
The multiple WhatsApp accounts feature is not yet available for everyone, as the feature is in development or in beta testing. If you want to try this feature then you need to update your WhatsApp to version 2.23.19.11 (for Android).
We have tested this feature on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.19.11, so either you can enroll in the beta testing program of WhatsApp or else you can follow the below simple steps to enable multiple WhatsApp account features.
Steps to use two WhatsApp accounts on one phone
- First, you have to download the WhatsApp version 2.23.19.11 APK file.
- Open the downloaded APK and click on 'install' or 'update'.
- Just finish the update and you have enabled multiple WhatsApp account features.
- Now click on ⋮ three dots > Setting.
- You will see Ⓥ a dropdown icon beside your profile name and QR code. (Check the below image for ref.)
After completing all the steps of adding a WhatsApp account, you will have a 'Switch Account' option to switch between your two accounts.
Switch Account options work similarly to how Meta allows account switching on Instagram and Facebook.
The new feature will allow users to conveniently manage multiple accounts within one application. It will integrate private chats, work conversations, and other messages into a single platform while keeping each conversation distinct with its own notifications. This aims to streamline messaging and communication across personal and professional spheres for an improved user experience.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new feature called Channel, which is aimed at broadcasted messages.
WhatsApp Announced its Channels Feature Globally
WhatsApp, the messaging application owned by Meta Platforms Inc., announced on Wednesday, September 14, 2023, that it is expanding the one-to-many broadcasting feature called WhatsApp Channels to over 150 countries. When first introduced in June 2022, WhatsApp Channels was only available to select organizations in Colombia and Singapore.
Similar to the messaging application Telegram, the WhatsApp Channels feature allows users to subscribe to receive updates from creators, organizations, and brands in a broadcast format from a single channel — like Cyber Kendra, and you can subscribe to our channel by clicking here.
This new feature provides an efficient way for entities to share information with large audiences on WhatsApp.
Earlier in 2022, Meta-owned Instagram also rolled out a comparable feature called broadcast channels. The expansion of WhatsApp Channels reflects the growing demand for one-to-many communication capabilities on messaging platforms.
